What it is

Reservations is where a hotel either flows or jams. Orian puts the whole property on one tape chart, rooms down the side, nights across the top, and lets you move a stay by dragging it. Every move is validated before it lands: a drop onto an occupied night or an out-of-order room is refused with the reason, and money is left alone so a negotiated rate survives a room change. Behind the calendar sits one availability number, shared by the desk, your own booking engine and every connected channel, which is the only real cure for overbooking.

Drag it, stretch it, done

Move a booking to another room or another night by dragging the bar; pull its edge to extend the stay. Clash-checked before you let go, with an optimistic UI that rolls back and tells you why if the move is refused.

Rate plans that stay in step

BAR, non-refundable, advance purchase, corporate, package and promo. Derived plans price off the room's base rate, so raising the base recomputes every plan at read time instead of leaving you to edit nine of them.

Groups, companies and agents

Block rooms for a wedding, a tour or a corporate account, keep them on a shared folio, and bill the company to the city ledger with a credit limit that is actually enforced.

In detail

Everything reservations does. Not a highlight reel.

1

The calendar

Everything the desk does in a day, without leaving one screen.

  • Tape-chart timelineRooms down the side, dates across, colour-coded by status, zoom from 7 to 35 nights.
  • Drag to move, drag to resizeChange room, change dates or extend a stay directly on the bar.
  • Clash and block validationEvery move is checked against existing stays and out-of-order blocks, and refused with a reason.
  • Click-to-createClick an empty night and the booking form opens with the room, date and its rate prefilled.
  • Per-day column headersArrivals, departures and occupancy percentage above each night.
  • Out-of-order rooms markedRooms under maintenance render hatched and reject drops outright.

Rates, policies and restrictions

The commercial rules a revenue manager expects to be able to set.

  • Six rate plan typesBAR, non-refundable, advance purchase, corporate, package and promo, each with its own meal plan.
  • Derived pricingPercentage or fixed adjustment off the base rate, recomputed on read so one edit updates all.
  • Cancellation and deposit policiesFree-until windows, penalty types and deposit schedules, snapshotted onto the booking so later edits never rewrite history.
  • AI policy composerWrite your terms in plain English and get a structured, saveable cancellation and deposit policy.
  • Per-date restriction gridStop-sell, closed to arrival, closed to departure and min/max length of stay, per date and room type.
  • Length-of-stay and advance rulesMinimum and maximum LOS plus minimum and maximum advance booking days per plan.
3

Occupancy, groups and inventory

The details that decide whether the number on the bill is right.

  • Availability matrixRooms left to sell per type per night, with the nightly rate in each cell and an occupancy row.
  • Group and corporate blocksHeld rooms under one group, with a shared folio and city-ledger settlement.
  • Occupancy-based pricingExtra-adult and per-child charges per room type, applied on top of the base before any discount.
  • Meal plansRoom only, bed and breakfast, half board, full board or all-inclusive on every booking.
  • Company and agent profilesCorporate, travel-agent and OTA accounts with commission percentages and credit limits.
  • Segment trackingMarket segment, source and channel recorded on every booking and rolled up in the reports.
How it runs

A day with it, in four moves.

1

The enquiry arrives

By phone, WhatsApp, your website, an OTA or the AI receptionist. All of them write the same booking record, nothing is re-keyed at the desk.

2

You quote from the real plan

The rate comes from the applicable rate plan for those dates, with occupancy supplements, meal plan and taxes already worked out.

3

Inventory closes instantly

The night is gone from your engine and every connected channel in the same breath, so the overbooking window never opens.

4

The stay moves as it needs to

Upgrade, extend or shuffle rooms on the chart. The folio follows, the housekeeping picture updates, and the agreed rate stays agreed.

Before you ask

Reservations, answered.

Can Orian overbook a room?

Not through its own surfaces. The desk, the calendar, your booking engine, phone bookings and the AI all read and write one availability number, and every write is validated against existing stays and date-ranged out-of-order blocks. The only residual risk is an OTA that delivers a reservation for a night it was told was closed, which the sync log makes visible immediately.

If I move a booking to a different room, does the price change?

No. Moves deliberately leave money alone so a negotiated rate survives a room change. If you want the new room's rate applied you change the total yourself, which keeps the decision with the person who made the promise to the guest.

Do rate changes ripple through my rate plans automatically?

Yes, when the plan is derived. A derived plan stores a percentage or fixed adjustment off the room's base rate and is priced at read time, so changing the base recomputes every derived plan. Plans set to their own base price stay where you put them.

Can I take group and corporate bookings?

Yes. Rooms are held under a booking group with a shared folio, and a company, travel agent or OTA profile can carry a commission percentage and a credit limit. Billing the company posts to the city ledger, and the ledger refuses to go past the limit you set.
